youth - september polaroid collaboration

Here is the first round of photos for the polaroid collaboration Jen of Painted Fish Studio and I are doing.  Our word this month was YOUTH.   We were to take a photo with this word in mind and show our interpretation.

I can't tell you how excited I am for this project.  I think Jen and I are going to come up with some great photos.  Our word for October is EMPTY.  Come back and visit on October 31st to see what we come up with.

starting to fall

There is nothing better to start the fall season like a trip to the pumpkin patch with your favorite peeps. my two monkeys, auntie amy, uncle adam and my sweet niece.  polaroid were taken :: goats were feed :: games were played :: prizes won :: lunch eaten :: tractor rides were taken ::

 

The weather was too warm to be considered fall but hey this is southern california.

collaboration #2

While showing off this amazing collage made by Jen of Painted Fish Studio during a project we collaborated on I mentioned that she and I had something else in the works.  I realized that I haven't really talked anymore about it since.  Jen and I have decided to do a polaroid collaboration. (surprised?) Each month we are taking turns picking a word, then we each take a polaroid that shows our interpretation of that word.  This month I got to choose the word and it is YOUTH.  Jen and I will be sharing our pictures on the last day of each month.  So make sure you come visit on September 30th.  I am really excited to be working on this with Jen. She is not only a talented photographer and paper crafter, she is lots of fun too.

I never knew it was possible to love a child as much as I love her, even though she does not belong to me.  I never knew someone could steal my heart the way she has.  19 months ago this precious girl was born.  She makes my heart sing.  I don't think she will ever know the true joy she has brought to my life.  Our whole family adores her but I have to say my favorite times are when it is just she and I playing or reading together.  I hope my sister knows how much i love being her aunt and that i would do anything for her little girl.  I hope I am being the kind of aunt to her daughter that she has been to my kids.  Oh how I love this child.

I was going to post something completely different today.  Then my J. Crew catalog came in the mail yesterday.  And this jacket...oh this jacket has me getting all wanty.  I have been trying to behave myself on the shopping front but this jacket REALLY  makes me want to jump off the behaving wagon.  Size 8 please. :)

Hi all~ I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. Just a quick note to let you know I added more polaroid prints to my etsy shop.

One of the reasons I love blogging so much is because you people really "get me".  Like this photo for instance.  While shopping at an antique store a while ago i came across this Fisher Price van.  I couldn't resist.  I think of ALL the toys I played with growing up the Fisher Price family + accessories was my absolute favorite.  I love everything about these guys, even now. They bring back such great memories.  Hours and hours of play.  So needless to say this van and it's two passengers, one found at the Rose Bowl Flea Market some time ago and one lifted from my mom's house last time I was there with the kids (HI mom) found there way into my photo session on sunday. Let the good times roll.

I had a chance to take some pictures this weekend.  It was really nice to expel some creative energy.  A theme developed :: home ::  I have been thinking about the concept of home a lot lately.  Home sweet home, home is where the heart is, home again, home again jiggity jig, home of the brave.

I am having trouble staying focused lately. Especially here.  I definitely need to get out and take more photos. One reason is that work is getting more busy, which is great because it has been so slow for so long.
