buttons + trims autumn

Yummy trims, ribbons + buttons in fall colors.

What is your favorite fall color?

I have been thinking of doing a simple + inspiring swap.  5 tear sheets (magazine pictures) for 5 tear sheets.  I think it would be fun to see what inspires other people.  Let me know if you are even interested.  If i get good feedback i will post the details here in a few days.

Happy Wednesday friends!

observation

Owl_fabric

ok there are certain animals these days that have been elevated to the status of cute due to the fact they are on adorable japanese fabric.

just a reminder:

the squirrel - one word people, rabies

the owl - these birds eat mice for dinner, do you really want this on your child's pillow?

the deer - i myself, am not a fan of lyme disease

the hedgehog -  it's back is covered with (as quoted from the dictionary) dense, erectile spines.  hello, not cute!

the bird - personal experience here:: Paris, France, sightseeing at Notre Dame, i walk outside, right shoulder.  Need i say more.

I of course buy this fabric myself, i will draw the line at snakes though. :)  unless it's really cute!

Olivia_with_her_crown

isn't this the most beautiful crown you have ever seen?  my friend vallen makes crowns, spectacular, intricate crowns for the people she cares about.  my little princess was lucky enough to receive her crown yesterday and as you can see she is quite happy about it.

and yes she has lost quite a few more teeth this summer.

i got a crown from vallen on my birthday in april.  here we are crowned together.

here and now

I know that i keep saying i am going to come back to regular blogging.  and i do want to.  it's just that i have been away from here for so long i don't know exactly where to start again.  i know blogging is cylical.  i have told new bloggers that exact thing when they express worry that no one is commenting on their blog.  cool weather = more blogging. for me i have just been having such a hard time getting back into the swing of things here.  but i am sick of that story and am looking for a new one.

fall is definitely here in so cal and for the first time ever i am glad.  i have always been a summer girl.  as i get older i can feel that tendency is changing. i am glad to be able to wear a sweater, glad to feel the house is cool when i wake up in the morning.  i am ready.

i think it is time for me to be back here on a more regular basis.  computer problems have been solved.  cord to camera found (to load pictures), new softwear figured out (mostly) no more excuses...

so i leave the summer behind.  all the projects, all the events that i never told you about.  i have too or else i can't be here now.  does that make sense?  i hope so.

now for the good part ::pictures::

can you see me smiling proudly? i have wanted to make a pencil roll since i saw one here and then even more after i spotted this thing of beauty.

Postal_box_2

some reorganization after i ripped my studio apart (again) moving furniture and displacing ALL my "stuff".  i promise not to do this again for a very, very, very long time.

artichoke + fall roses

This inspired image is dedicated to Vallen Queen.

Hi friends.

I don't want to jinx anything but i have my internet connection back.  I will resume regular blogging next week after i finish some important projects i have been working on.  Although i have not been spending much time on the computer, which i have found is a blessing in disguise, i have been busy.  The summer of learning how to sew was a success and although i have yet to crank out a dress or quilt i am feeling much more confident behind the machine.  Although my machine is very temperamental.  Any input on a good two or three hundred dollar machine that will work hard for me?  Any info or comments would be appreciated.

I have pictures and project i would like to share.  So many i am feeling a little overwhelmed by it all.  Slow and steady as i ease back into blogging.

As for the end of summer, i have never said this before but i am ready for fall.  The heat here has been unbearable.  Cooler days sound like a dream.

What has everyone been working on?  I would love to know.  :)
